Zuni in his new foster home
Zuni in his new forever home
Hi Megan,

Zuni has settled in aleady. The
first night he was a little
restless but last night when we
went to bed he jumped up on
the bed and didnt move all
night. The bed is a little
crowded with us, the cat and
Rocky (the cat) but thats not a
problem lol.

Both mornings I have walked
with him to the park, about 3
miles all together, and Zuni
really enjoys it. I wont unleash
him for a week or until I know
he is completely under voice
control from me. He has never
attempted to lift his leg in the
house. The cat has him
bluffed. They are getting used
to one another really well
though. They just respect the
others space. He uses the
doggy door and I didnt even
have to show him so he must
have used one before.

I  have emailed all my family
and friends about him and
sent photos and the web site.
They all emailed me back
saying how beautiful he is.
The manager from our
apartment complex took his
photo for the photo board in
her office and told me she
wants a blue merle aussie.
She already has an Australian
Cattle Dog who is deaf. I gave
her your web site to look at.

My sister and niece and her 6
year old daughter came to see
him. He is so gentle with
children!! He just lay on his
back and was all over Taylor
wanting her to rub his tummy.
Taylor is used to dogs as they
have 4 dogs and 2 cats. You
could say we are a very animal
orientated family lol

Thanks for letting us adopt
him. Hes a wonderful dog and
we are really happy he is part
of our family.

I wish you all the best and
good luck in future agility trials.

NEW SLIDESHOW
Hi Megan,

Firstly let me say we all love Zuni, including Rocky our cat. He is such a good boy. He is so obedient with simple
commands. For instance I feed him 1st, then the cat, and he always wants the cats food but all I have to say to him
is "wait" and he sits and waits til the cat is finished then thats his cue to go finish what the cat has left.

There is only one thing I wish I could change about him and that is his inbuilt alarm clock lol. My husband is an early
riser and as soon as he gets up he takes Zuni for a short walk to the dog area here in the apartment complex. Zuni
will not use our small yard to go potty. I think he thinks its part of the apartment and hes really house trained as you
know. When Raymond brings him home he runs straight in to me ( who is trying to sleep as I dont finish work til
10pm ) and jumps on the bed and licks me to wake me up. He then keeps licking me trying to encourage me to get
up and take him to the park. The unleash area doesnt open til 7am and he loves going there. We have made many
friends there and theres a real mixture of good dogs there that if they run he loves to try and herd up. He is very
attentive and keeps a close watch on me though and as soon as I start to leave he leaves all the other dogs and
follows me to leave. He always sits for me to put his leash on without me asking him! People there cant believe Ive
only had him such a short time as from the  1st day I took him to the unleash area it is like I have had him from a
puppy he is so attached to me. I have had many remarks from people in the park on what an attractive dog he is.

I am thinking about doing Therapy Dog work with him because he is so gently and friendly to everyone. There are 2
disable people in the apartment complex and the 1st time he met both of them on,  both on different occasions,  he
immediately moved to the side of the wheel chair and sat by their side waiting to be patted. I will have to wait til I give
up work though before I can do it but its in his future.

I took him to the vet to have him heart worm tested so I could put him on heart worm treatment and he was negative
so he is now on heart worm tablets once a month. The lump seems to be nothing to worry about as the vet couldnt
even find the hole and so little chance of any of the bowel coming through. He had to have some eye ointment for 7
days as he had a slight eye infection but thats all cleared up now. Next February he is going to have his teeth
cleaned. Feb they have dental month and so there is a discount that month. There is no hurry to have them done
and so I will wait til then. When he is having his teeth cleaned, if I decide to have the lump removed, she will do that
at the same time but Im not sure it will have to be done. She didnt seem to think there was anything to worry about.

I will take my digital camera to the park tomorrow and take some photos and send to you.

Thanks again for letting us adopt him......he is very loved here by everyone. You have made another family very
happy and another successful adoption for your web page. Keep up the great work you do with your adoptions.

Regards and best wishes ....Jay
Hi Megan,

Zuni is doing fine. They call him the gatekeeper at the park in the morning because he greets every dog as they arrive
and farewells them when they leave. Even the park keeper and his staff call him that!! lol He is a very popular dog at the
park. He wakes me every morning and wont let me sleep because he knows hes going to the park which opens at 7am.
