Schooner was my very first aussie.  He was a beautiful blue merle male with an all white head - he was a pattern white so
could see and hear fine.  I rescued him at 3 wks of age when he was borded with his mother and littermates at my work.
His mom was trying to kill him so he bacame mine.  He was a wonderful obedience dog and he always got to be the
demo dog for each new class that started.  He looked like a little lamb so I always called him baa baa or the baa.   Sadly
Schooner was afraid of thunder and even though in the house, he broke out a back window and jumped the fence.  I
was never able to find him despite all my efforts however I did get 2 calls stating he was seen on the road having been
hit by a car.  Schooner is greatly missed and loved and is the reason I started all this rescue stuff - due to his greatness!

Shyanne was rescued from the Apple valley animal shelter as a senior and was adopted by Brian and Diane in
Thousand Oaks who gave a senior dog a wonderful home to spend her last year of life.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that we had to put Shyanne to rest this last week. We had a wonderful year with her and
she was a very special girl to us. She had suffered a minor stroke about six months ago but recovered but about a week
and a half ago she suffered a major stroke and after 4 days she was unable to eat and showed no recovery at all. The
doctor said he did not believe any recovery was possible and that the stroke was too major and had caused brain
damage. We are saddened by her loss but we are glad you entrusted her to us for this last year and allowed us to enjoy
her great spirit.

Here's some pictures of our beloved Pete.   I don't think I ever sent
them to you.

Sharon may have told you of his spine problems.  The vet
has determined that his back in inoperable - could help, but could just
as likely create more problems and pain.  The disks are just too "dried
out" and degenerated.

The last week has been extremely hard on him as we had to wean him off
the pred and start on Rimadyl.  Now we're adding Robaxin to see if it
helps, as the Rimadyl alone is not keeping him comfortable.  (all the
time he is on as many pain pills as it takes to keep him calm.)

we'll know in a few days if the addition of robaxin will do the trick.
Please think good thoughts.  We just can't stand to lose him.  We are
very grateful that you allowed us to adopt this very special dog.

TIMMY ? - 6/27/07  Timmy was rescued from me about 4 years ago.  The owners got
divorced 1.5 yrs ago and just now the owner decided he no longer wanted Timmy.  I told him I
would take Timmy back and find him a home and that Timmy must be returned to me.  I called
the guy this morning to make arrangements to pick Timmy up and to my shock he told me that
Timmy had been put to sleep and that he did it himself.  I am truly sorry that I failed you Timmy.
Dear Megan,
Just over two and a half years ago, I adopted Travis from you. I wanted to thank you
for what you do and thank you for rescuing Travis. He brought me much joy in a
short time. Today I received his ashes. I'm sad to say that he died last week of
cardiac arrest at the emergency vet here in Escondido, we're not sure why, he
seemed healthy and happy. My husband and I and our two other dogs are missing
him greatly. He was a beautiful boy, always full of love for all of us and everyone he
met.

I've attached a picture of Travis right after his haircut last summer. He was a very
funny boy, and entertained us with his goofy antics. He often howled or barked at
the camera, like this picture. I'm so very grateful that you brought sweet Travis into
our lives. I know he was lucky to have us, but we were the luckiest to have him.
Thank you,

Jennifer
