Hi Megan,

This is Arlene and I have adopted Billy and Comet from you.  Billy is doing
wonderful, but Comet died last night.  He can in from playing in the yard,
had a snack and laid down in his spot, but 30 minuets after laying down I
heard two awful yelps when over to him and he died in my arms.  It took
about 1 minute.  He did not suffer.

We are doing an autopsy since there was no outward signs of anything.
He will be cremated and come home with us.

I can not tell you how heart broken we are.  We loved him so much.  He
was a wonderful dog.  He was smart, loving, energetic and the whole
neighbor loved him.  He was my Velcro dog.  He went everywhere with me.
Watched me take showers, laid by the bathroom door if I closed it, slept on
our bed.  He was so smart. He learned to open up our house doors to let
himself in and out.  I could go on for hours about him, but it would be to
hard on me at the moment.  I could not go to work today.

I write this as the tears are stringing down my cheeks.  He was one of
those 1 in a million dogs.  I can take comfort that in the 15 months we had
him, he had a wonderful life.  He had 5 acres to run on and he adored Billy
and Sadie.    We loved him as much as he did us.  I would tell me people
that I had my own live plush toy-his coat was so soft.

I will miss those WET Aussie kisses he gave me everyday.  He just open his
mouth licked with his big wet tongue.
